  4. falsifying business records; in New York City. A flamboyant,
  5. porcine preacher, he gained national notoriety as an adviser to
  6. Tawana Brawley, the black teenager who claimed that a gang of white
  7. males abducted and raped her in November 1987. A grand jury
  8. investigation found that Brawley's allegations were a hoax.
  9. Sharpton is charged with stealing more than $250,000 from the
  10. National Youth Movement, an organization he founded 18 years ago.
